On Saturday October 10th 2009 I had the honour of singing at Virginia and Roger’s wedding. It was a beautiful Wedding ceremony/Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on the corner of Bathurst St. and Adelaide St. in Toronto. The Bride was stunning (no big surprise there, she is stunning every day that I see her) and the Groom was Overwhelmed at the sight of her as she poised herself at the entrance of the church arm in arm with her parents. I was truly moved by this and delighted that I was on the altar instead of the choir loft to be witness of the charming exchange between Roger and his best man as if he was saying “Wow, I must be the luckiest guy in the world!”
The couple chose that I sing Panis Angelicus (Cesar Franck) for their communion hymn and Ave Maria (Schubert) for the signing of the Registry. The wooden pews, marble flooring and cathedral ceiling allowed for the sound of my voice along with the extremely talented string trio to echo through the large church and onto the ears of their beloved friends and family members. I’m always so pleased that couples make an effort to pick beautiful music for their special day, it truly blesses everyone in attendance including me.
I thank you Virginia and Roger for including me in your wedding Mass. I wish you a long life together and may God bless you.
